The events are part of the Great Nevada ShakeOut, an annual statewide earthquake drill designed to teach students and educators about how to protect themselves during an earthquake.

EVMS to Host a Topping Out Ceremony Wednesday

Photographers and representatives from the news media are invited Wednesday, Oct. 13, to capture images and video of teachers, students, school board trustees and local dignitaries signing a massive steel beam for a ‘Topping Out’ ceremony beginning as early as 11 a.m. at Eagle Valley Middle School, 4151 East Fifth Street, Carson City, Nevada 89701. The beam is scheduled to be set in place by 12 noon.
